Enat Bank opened its 65th branches in Addis Ababa around Bole Michael, 100 meters away from Fikir Café.
The branch is named after a renowned Ethiopian Women “Maria Munir”, one of the co-founders of Ethiopian Women Lawyers Association (EWLA) and founded Association for Women’s Sanctuary and Development (AWSAD). The association target beneficiaries are mostly women and children who are survivors of physical and/or sexual violence and opened the first safe house for abused women, girls and children with the aim of providing holistic services. AWSAD also offers different types of skills including provision of business startup seed money and covers living cost for survivors when they leave the safe house and re-enter the community. In recognition of her work, Maria has been awarded as women of excellence 2015 by the Association of Women in Business (AWIB).
