W/ro Hana Tilahun – Board Chair Person

Mrs. Hanna Tilahun is a Certified Public Accountant, owner and Managing Director of Bezalel Construction Material Manufacturing PLC, Ethiopia. She employs more than 150 people in Ethiopia. Previously she worked in various leadership capacities, including as a Finance and Administrative Advisor to MH-Engineering PLC, and as the Audit and Inspection Department Manger & General Manger Department Head to NORI-La Norinco Lalibela Engineering & Construction S.C.

Mrs. Hanna Tilahun holds a B.A. in Accounting from Addis Ababa.

 

Ato. Habtu Dimsu – Board Deputy Chairman

Mr. Habtu Dimsu is Freelance Consultant, and business owner. Previously he worked in various leadership capacity as Chief Executive Advisor, Ybel Industrial PLC; Chief officer/Vice President Business Development Commercial Bank of Ethiopia; General Manager, Living Steel Construction Plc. He participated in feasibility study for the Establishment of Lion International Bank (LIB) project, and in the publications of the study reports.

Mr. Habtu holds a MSc. Degree in Agricultural Economics from Gorki Agriculture Academy; MSc. in Development and Project Planning from Brad Ford University, UK; Advance Diploma in Development Economics from University of Brad Ford, UK. 

Wzo Nigist Haile – Member & Founder

Mrs. Nigest Haile is the founder and Executive Director of the Center for African Women Economic Empowerment (CAWEE). CAWEE is NGO working in Ethiopia to provide capacity building services for women exporters. Nigest previously worked in the Ethiopian Ministry of Trade and Industry for 23 years, including as Head of the Women’s Affairs Department. 

Mrs. Nigest holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Globalization and Development from the Institute of Social Studies at The Hague in the Netherlands; B.A. in Psychology from Addis Ababa University.

Amb. Kongit Sinegiorgis – Member

Ambassador Kongit is Africa’s longest serving Diplomat Ambassador. In the early days of her career, she served as an officer in charge of decolonization affairs in the Ethiopian Permanent Mission to the UN in New York. Later, she became Ethiopia’s Permanent Representative to the OAU, and eventually to the AU, and contributed her share in the transformation OAU to the AU. 

Ambassador Kongit joined the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1962, and has held numerous positions in different capacities both in the country and overseas. Furthermore she has held distinguished positions as a member of various high–level Committees including the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has given due recognition to her time-honored, distinguished service, together with the Golden Jubilee of the AU. 

She holds Post-Graduate diploma in Diplomacy from School of International Affairs Columbia University, New York; BA in International Affairs from Institute of World Affairs, University College London, United Kingdom.

Ato. Alemayehu Kebede – Member

Mr. Alemayehu Kebede is a seasoned banking industry expert with 36 years of experience in financial services products and technologies with the National Bank of Ethiopia. He has worked at different positions with the National Bank of Ethiopia with a broad range of Ethiopian and international clients analyzing industry trends and identifying market opportunities. He has also actively lead projects on strategic plan, monitoring and evaluation of performance management with emphasis on balanced scorecard. Mr. Kebede has served as counterpart for different World Bank projects on payment system, overall central bank policy and procedure, with KPMG on comprehensive organizational and system study for the central bank. 

Mr. Alemayehu holds Post Graduate Diploma in Economic Development and Planning from The Institute of Studies for Economic Development, Naples (Italy); BA Degree in Economics from Addis Ababa University.

W/ro Shitaye Hussein – Member

Mrs. Shitaye is the Founder & Executive Director of Bahir Integrated Child and Family Support Organization since 2005. BICAFSO is an indigenous organization caring and supporting orphan and vulnerable children (OVCs) She is currently providing care and support to 75 OVCs in Addis Ababa, and Southern Nations Nationalities and Peoples Regional State Ethiopia. Previously she worked in various leadership capacities with Ethiopian Airlines; United Nation Children’s Fund (UNICEF); United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and different senior positions including Human Resources Administration, and Operations Management.

Mrs. Shitaye holds MBA in Executive Management and Administration from Century University, New Mexico, USA- Distance Learning; BA in Business Administration (major in Administration and minor in Accounting) from Addis Ababa University.

Ato. Itana Ayana – Member

Mr. Itana Ayana is currently owner and General Manager -ITAB consult Plc. He has several experiences working with the Development Bank of Ethiopia for over 22 years, and designed the formation of a number of microfinance institutions. He has extensive experience in project identification, feasibility studies, project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation rural development and private business. He has led several baseline surveys, mid-term and final evaluation of rural development projects for NGOs and bilateral organizations operating in Ethiopia.

He holds MSc in Economic Development and Planning from Addis Ababa University; BSc in Agricultural Economics from Addis Ababa, University.

Ato. Eyobed Tibebu- Member

Mr. Eyobed Tibebu currently is a freelance insurance trainer, Advisor and consultant in Risk and Insurance. Previously he worked in various leadership capacities with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, as Head of Inspection Division, Trade and Price Control Department, and later as a Secretary General of the provisional insurance board established by PMAC (Provisional Military Administration Council) after the nationalization of insurance companies. He also served as a member of the Board of Management of the Ethiopian Insurance Corporation, and as Manager of Marketing and Business Development Department of The African Insurance Company and later as Advisor and Personal Assistance to the Chief Executive Officer.

He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in training of trainers in development Administration from Jawaharial Nehru University, New Delhi, India; Bachelor of Law and International Studies from Unity University; Diploma in Accounting from Addis Ababa University.

 

W/ro. Frehiwot Worku – Member

Mrs. Frehiwot Worku is currently serving as the Secretary General of Ethiopian Red Cross Society, in Addis Ababa. Previously she worked in various leadership capacities with Ethiopian Airlines, including as Executive Vice President- Corporate Service, Vice President- Human Resource Management & and as Division Manager- Management Audit, System and Procedure. 

She holds MSc in Business Administration in Management from Addis Ababa University; BSc in Administrative Management from Addis Ababa University.

W/ro. Roman Legesse– Member

Mrs. Roman Legesse is currently serving as the Head of Foreign Project Account with the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR). Previously she worked in various leadership capacities with the same Institute started in the early 1990 as an Accountant and moved up to Director of Procurement, Finance and Property Management.

She holds MSc in Accounting & Finance from Addis Ababa University; BA in Accounting from Addis Ababa University.

Ato. Woldegabriel Naizghi– Member

Mr. Woldegabriel Naizghi is an Authorized Accountant and Tax Consultant. He previously served as Consulting with H.S.T Consulting P.L.C (As associate firm of Deloitte) International Consulting Firm. He held various leadership positions with The Federal Inland Revenue Authority (FIRA) (currently known as Customs Authority) as General Manager, Manager/ Department Head; Tax Audit Team Leader and Tax Auditor. He served as a board member of the Development Bank of Ethiopia, and Board Chairman of Lion Insurance S.C. 

He holds BA Degree in Accounting from Addis Ababa, University.

Bio: Wondwossen Teshome is senior banking executive in Ethiopia with over thirty years of management, supervisory, consulting, and operational experiences. He is now serving as President of ENAT Bank. Prior to this current position, he was Senior Advisor at the Agency for Supervision and Regulation of State Banks, a financial advisory body.

Ato Wondwossen used to be the President of the Development Bank of Ethiopia (DBE), the country’s premier development finance institution engaged in financing development projects of diverse nature. During his tenure at DBE, he has been involved in the financing and execution of various business development projects; as well as, in the modernization process of the Bank. Ato Wondwossen in his long financial career, has also been involved in project finance, debt structuring, arbitration and dispute resolution, and foreclosure proceedings. He had management oversight of financial analyses and due diligence in the financing of numerous manufacturing and agribusiness enterprises of diversified backgrounds. He has a thorough understanding of the business process, technical, legal and cultural complexities of business transactions in Ethiopia.

Ato Wondwossen has widely travelled around the world and has gained extensive experience in coordinating and partnering with multilateral financial institutions and foreign banks, and has a high degree of multi-cultural awareness. In the course of his career, he has gained wide respect for his understanding and support of business entities. Moreover, he has served as Board member of the Ethiopian Shipping Lines for over four years.

Ato Wondwossen holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Addis Ababa University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Greenwich, London.

 

 

Bio: Wzo Birtukan Gebreegzi Gebretekle serves as the V/President of Enat Bank. Wzo Birtukan brings a wealth of skills and knowledge to the position through her 30 years of professional banking experience. Most recently, Wzo Birtukan held the position of Director of the International Banking Department at the Bank of Abyssinia, where she expertly managed a large team and facilitated banking and business around the world. 

Prior to her position at the Bank of Abyssinia, Wzo Birtukan held numerous positions at the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, including: District Manager of North Addis Ababa, Director of the International Banking Department, Manager of Import/Export, Manager of Foreign Transfers and NR Account, and Head of the Correspondent Banking Relationship (among others). She has significant international exposure through business visits in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. In addition, Wzo Birtukan has participated in frequent trainings to expand her professional expertise, including a Seminar for African Bankers in Mauritius, an International Banking course organized by KBC bank in Belgium, and a Trade Finance Seminar facilitated by Commerz Bank in Germany. She also completed an international banking training organized by Unicredito Italiano in Milan, Italy and a course with Standard Bank (Stanbic) in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Wzo Birtukan has also served as Board Member of the Metehara Sugar Factory and on the Board Audit Committee of Nefas Silk Paints Factory. She is currently a board member of the Finot Health Center, which is under formation. Wzo Birtukan holds a Diploma in Banking and Finance from Commercial College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Addis Ababa University.

Bio: “Ato Ermias Andarge is a qualified banker with more than 18 years of experience in two different commercial banks assuming different positions, including the Finance Director position for Bank of Abyssinia and Enat Bank. He is presently serving as Vice President of Corporate Services in Enat bank S.C.

As vice president of Corporate Services, Ato Ermias leads the support services needed to effectively and efficiently support the innovation, service quality, and profitability goals of Enat Bank using his expertise to provide direction, management, and leadership in budgeting, accounting, business planning, and all aspects of Enat Bank Administration.
